Furies to Join CGU in 2019
When the Women’s Premier League began competition in 2009, the Furies were among the founding teams that kick-started the elite level of women’s rugby in the U.S. Over the next 10 years, the Furies have been one of the few teams that have remained in the league since its inception. It’s unfortunate to say that after the challenge match against Life West Gladiatrix following the 2018 season, the Furies will be exiting the league to begin competing in the Capital Geographic Union. The Furies have nothing but positivity and motivation moving into the off-season. As we begin this new journey, we will work to excel at this new level of competition and look forward to the opportunity to win back a place in the league. The Furies have been a part of the Women’s Premier League since the beginning—and our story is far from over.
